Variation in the natural quartz color, pattern, size, shape, and shade are inherent and unique characteristics of Quartz Surfacing and are to be expected as with all natural products. These variations do not affect the product performance. Seams in quartz products will be plainly visible. Where seams occur, product color and pattern may change.
All surfaces can be damaged by excessive force or pressure.
Quartz surfaces can be damaged by sudden and rapid temperature changes, especially near the edges, as well as direct or sustained heating of the product. Your product may not withstand the direct transfer of heat from hot pots and pans, electric frying pans and griddles, some crock pots, some toasters and toaster ovens, and heat lamps. Therefore, the use of a hot pad or trivet is ALWAYS recommended.
Variation in the natural stone color, pattern, size, shape and shade are inherent and unique characteristics to be expected. This does not affect the product performance. Your countertop will not be replaced due to these variations.
Natural stone products may contain some or all of the following characteristics:
- Areas that have been filled with color-matched epoxy that may compromise the integrity and strength of the materials.
- Small visible “fissure” lines on the surface which rarely affect the structural integrity.
- Natural mineral deposits, or “beauty marks,” that can be seen as intensified spots or lines of color, lack of color and areas with compromised polishing ability.
- Pitting “pock” marks of varying size on the surface.
All natural stone products can be damaged by excessive force, pressure or prolonged heating.
All seams will be plainly visible and where there are seams the product pattern, color and other characteristics may change.
Natural Stone surfaces are easy to clean using a soft cloth with warm water and any pH neutral, non-abrasive cleaner or mild dishwashing detergent. Be sure to rinse with clear water when complete, as too much cleaner or soap may leave a film and/or cause streaks when the surface dries.
In wet areas, soap scum can be minimized by using a squeegee after each use. To remove soap scum, use a non-acidic soap scum remover or a solution of ammonia and water (about ½ cup of ammonia to 1 gallon of water). Take note that frequent or over-use of an ammonia solution may eventually dull the surface of the stone.
Take note that many common foods and drinks contain acids that may dull your Natural Stone Surface. The use of coasters, trivets, and placemats is ALWAYS recommended.

All Solid Surface products are made from a non-porous, homogeneous blend of polyester and acrylic resins and natural mineral fillers. There are no surface coatings to disrupt or damage, because Solid Surface is composed of the same polymer blend from front to back and from top to bottom. The unique characteristics of Solid Surface result in a product that is completely non-porous and resistant to most household chemicals, so stains and liquids don’t soak in. The non-porous nature of Solid Surface also provides an all-important health benefit; it will not promote the growth of bacteria, mold, or mildew.

Solid Surface products are inherently heat-resistant. However, to prevent any heat damage, you should never place hot items directly on the surface. Always use trivets with rubber feet when placing hot items on the countertop. Remember, placing hot pans or heat-generating appliances directly on your Solid Surface may cause damage to your countertop. Avoid direct and indirect heat reaching temperatures of 170°F and above.
Avoid strong chemicals that can cause damages to your surface such as oven cleaners, acetone, paint removers, and other strong chemicals. If exposed, promptly flush with water. Remember, prolonged contact with harsh chemicals can cause serious damage to your countertop.
- Avoid cutting directly on your Solid Surface® countertop. Always use a cutting board.
- Never place hot pans directly on the countertop. Even though the countertop is heat-resistant, it is not heat-proof. Prolonged or sudden exposure to extreme heat may cause permanent damage.
- Strong acids, such as those found in drain cleaners, should be flushed with water immediately. Some of these items may cause whitening if left on the surface, which can be difficult to remove.
Standard Cultured Marble is a combination of crushed marble, high-strength resin and color pigments, resulting in a product with veined color patterns. All products have a clear gel coat over 20 mils thick.
Solid Color Cultured Marble is a combination of crushed marble and high strength resin, resulting in products that have a solid color (with no veining pattern) due to their colored gel coat.
Cultured Granite creates the exquisite look of quarried granite with the technological benefits and durability of cultured marble. All of Heritage Marble’s cultured granite colors are granite particulate all the way through the product—not just a “surface” coat as some manufacturers offer. The clear gel coat offers the same wear and durability as cultured marble or cultured onyx.
