Quartz Surfacing

What is Quartz Surfacing?

Quartz Surfacing is a manufactured product consisting of approximately 93% natural quartz crystals and 7% natural resins, pigments, and binders. The most common use for quartz surfacing is as a countertop surface, but it can be used both vertically and horizontally in a wide variety of applications where it’s beauty and durability are needed or desired.

Quartz is one of the hardest minerals on the planet. As a result, quartz surfacing is an extremely durable surface that is scratch-resistant, stain-resistant, and can be cleaned with normal household cleaning products. In addition, quartz surfacing provides the look and feel of natural granite without the sealing or the ongoing maintenance required for natural stone.

Quartz slabs are manufactured using all-natural minerals and pigments. In general, colors and patterns of quartz surfacing are more uniform throughout the slabs and from slab to slab than natural stone. However, because of variations in the natural materials, quartz samples are only representative and may not exactly match the final product. In addition, be aware that slab sizes vary from manufacturer to manufacturer and sometimes from color to color, as this will directly affect the quantity and placement of seams in your finished product.

Quartz surfacing is a seamed product and all seams in quartz surfacing will be plainly visible. The good news is that some patterns and colors make seams less visible than others and we can help you choose the best colors and patterns to camouflage them. Please also be aware that quartz surfacing is designed for indoor use and will fade if installed in exterior applications.
